What began as a job for Clint in 1987, designing kitchens in a locally owned Home Center, has become a way of life. Through the first few of his 24 years in the industry Clint designed simple, problem solving kitchens.
Becoming a Certified Kitchen Designer in 1995, he took his game to a new level. The scope of Clint's work has since expanded to include cabinetry in some of the most beautiful, complex homes in the Puget Sound area. He has designed cabinetry for virtually every room in the home: kitchens, of course, but also vanities for elegant bathrooms, bookshelves for dens, and window seats for bedrooms.
The work isn't just work for Clint; as a "Kitchen Junkie" with a serious habit, he spends weekends cooking for family and friends, and making wine recognized with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in local amateur winemaking contests. It gives him a deep understanding of what works and what doesn't; he doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk.
Since 2002, Clint's role in the Kitchen business has been expanded to include managing the design studios he worked with. The experience gained through his involvement in all aspects of the process make this latest chapter, founding Kitchen Companions and KC Fine Cabinetry a natural phase of his evolution
Kimberly is a rare person in the Puget Sound region; an actual native of the area. Having grown up in Bellevue, she graduated with a 3 year degree in Interior Design from Bellevue Community College. After spending several years in the commercial furniture industry, she began her career in designing kitchens with a Bellevue firm in 1993. Kimberly has raised the bar from the very start. Only 3 years into her career she became a Certified Kitchen Designer.
Two years later, in 1997, she designed the Best Kitchen, Street of Dreams. Projects designed by Kimberly have been published in Northwest Living Magazine, Better Homes and GardensBuilding Ideas. While these are great achievements, they are no surprise. She loves good design. The excitement in interior design doesn't always come from working on the biggest, most expensive projects. Often, the joy comes from providing a simple solution to a stubborn problem, or building a beautiful kitchen on a tight budget. Kimberly understands that successful design isn't just about creativity and the mechanics of design, although both are important; it's about listening to your clients, understanding what is important to them, and incorporating it into a project they will love. As Co-Founder of Kitchen Companions and KC Fine Cabinetry, Kimberly looks forward to putting these skills to use.
As the Seattle area has grown and matured over the past 20 years, cabinetry for the home has kept pace. While "custom cabinets" used to mean they were built by a smaller company, capable of building unusual sizes, today it means being able to provide and install products in many wood species, in hundreds of door styles, and literally thousands of finishes. It means understanding and providing the unbelievable array of architectural components to properly present the design. Each project is unique and has its own challenges from the proper marriage of materials to a skillful solution and artful application. The trick is being able to determining what the Client's needs are as well as presenting options the Client has never thought of. Clint and Kimberly and KC Fine Cabinetry have all this under one roof. With their 40 years combined experience and unlimited styles, colors and materials at their disposal, this is truly what "custom cabinets" means today.
Now Clint and Kimberly have joined forces to present a truly dynamic duo. With the marriage of each Designer and their unique skill set along with the fact that they are actually married to one another makes Kitchen Companions a force in the Seattle area. When you work with Clint and Kimberly you truly get two for the price of one.

Born Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Ellison has an estimated net worth of $51.8 billion according to Forbes as of 2014. Founder and CEO of the world’s largest business software company Mr. Larry Ellison is not only one of the world’s richest persons alive but is also one of the most flamboyant and outspoken of the lot. A cavalier business personality, he knows how to dress for occasions with his tailor made Italian suits and shirts making him look as if he was born to be a billionaire. Ellison was born to an unwed 19 year old mother. When he was just nine months, her mother gave his child to be adopted by her aunt and uncle in Chicago. It was 48 long years, before Ellison met his biological mother. In 1977, Ellison and his two colleagues Robert Miner and Ed Oates found a company called Software Development Labs, where they came across a paper called “A Relational Model of Data for large Shared Data Banks, which became the basis of their soon-to-be-found fortune. His prime came in 2000, when for a brief period of time he left behind Bill Gates to become the richest person in the world. Other than the humongous amount of wealth that he has, Ellison is known as a quite multi faceted character: a brusque businessman, marketing genius and a playboy. Owing to his voracious appetite for new estates, he has been tagged as the newest trophy buyer in the country. He follows a simple approach, “Buy the best, without compromise”. The scores of properties he has includes two holdings in Woodside, California, a hotel and two restaurants in Malibu along with two other homes, a 249-acre state in Palm Springs, which he got for $49 million and a garden property in Kyoto Japan worth at least $86 million. Ellison has a penchant for adventures, sailing and outdoor sports that has cost him more than a few million dollars and made him rivals with a few fellow billionaires (read Paul Allen). He has two grown children, Megan and David, both dabbling in the movie business, and is recently divorced from his most recent wife, romance novelist Melanie Craft.
Larry Ellison has recently added Porcupine Creek to his ever growing list of real estates. This amazing piece of property, which has a 19-hole golf course was bought by Ellison from Yellowstone club founder Edra Blixseth for an astronomical $39.2 million.
Although it was put on sale with a price tag of $75 million, but it dropped to $55 million and was again marked down to $42.9 million for Ellison. Covering 249 acres, the Porcupine has 16 bedrooms.
Another expansive playground for the rich, this house was bought by Ellison from music producer David Foster in 2005 for $20 million. The property is composed of a guesthouse, pool, tennis court and on-site pool among other luxuries. The compound, which also includes nine bedrooms and three recording studios, has its own funicular- a self-contained cable railway, which is used to cart guests from the mansion on down to the pool. This property is nothing less than a palace and is only one of the 12 homes in Malibu, which have a reported total value of more than $200 million.
The interiors are innatey decorated with rare medieval artifacts and furniture. The whole home has a classic vintage feel to it. There is a pool which faces scenic mountains, providing ultimate leisure experiences for the Ellisons. The 19 hole golf course was ranked 13th best in California golf digest.
Larry Ellison bought this one in November 2005 for $23 million. This estate is just at mile’s length from his Japanese styled prime residence and is a combination of two lots spread over 6.88 acres of land. The property features a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house which has a colonial architecture. What more, it also has two five-stall barns, which apparently housed Ellison’s horses. However, the trophy buyer, who has around 15 properties all over the globe worth more than $200 million, is set to lose $4m on this estate as he has listed it at an asking price of $1

Counter Space: Design and the Modern Kitchen
The Museum of Modern Art, New York City
September 15, 2010 to May 2, 2011
Reviewed by Erin Eisenbarth, Bard Graduate Center
Counter Space: Design and the Modern Kitchen focuses on the ways design, art, and culture converged in one domestic location – the kitchen – during the twentieth century. Organized by MoMA’s curator of architecture and design, Juliet Kinchin, and curatorial assistant Aidan O’Connor, Counter Space mixes designed objects, works of art, film, and historical documentation to examine the Western kitchen’s changing, and often conflicting, identities as a “meal machine, experimental laboratory, status symbol, domestic prison, or the creative and spiritual heart of the home.”[1]
Jam-packed with nearly three hundred works drawn from the museum’s collection, Counter Space provides MoMA with an opportunity to show off the depth of its domestic design holdings while documenting the kitchen’s importance as a site for modern design and an inspiration for modern art. The kitchen was an early battlefield in the struggle to bring modern design into the home, as a confluence of factors – a dwindling supply of domestic servants, the development of the field of home economics, and the desire to develop consumer applications for new manufacturing technologies and materials – brought a host of designs and devices into the kitchen that claimed to save time and labor, increase health and hygiene, or otherwise improve standards of living. Though critics and tastemakers might still debate modern design’s appropriateness in the living room or bedroom, Modernism’s aesthetic and social principles mixed so well with technological and commercial innovations that by the mid-twentieth century few would have denied that it belonged in the kitchen. Even critiques of the “modern” kitchen – as a site of conspicuous consumption or an instrument for the oppression of women – acknowledge the importance the kitchen holds in our cultural consciousness.
Held in conjunction with the museum’s recent publication of Modern Women: Women at the Museum of Modern Art (2010), the exhibition highlights not only the central role of women as the primary users and consumers of kitchen design, but also the contributions of women domestic scientists, designers, architects, and artists.[2] Central to this project is the exhibit’s literal and thematic centerpiece, an installation of one of Grete Schütte-Lihotzky’s (1897-2000) Frankfurt kitchens (1926-27), the earliest work by a female architect in MoMA’s collection.
Drawing mainly on examples from Europe and America, Counter Space is divided into four sections: “Towards the New Kitchen,” “The New Kitchen,” “Land of “Plenty,” and “Kitchen Sink Dramas.” The exhibit opens with a brief section that examines the social and technological changes which would help make the age of “new kitchens” possible. Featuring objects as diverse as sugar cubes (patented 1872), the flat-bottomed pleated-side brown paper grocery bag (1893), Peter Behrens’s electric kettle (1909), and plans for Frank Lloyd Wright’s American System-Built housing (c.1915-17), “Towards the New Kitchen” shows how the development of mass-production techniques was critical to bring new designs and ideas to the kitchen. Behrens, often regarded as Germany’s first industrial designer and one of the pioneers of corporate branding, was hired by A.E.G. (Allegemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft), a German electrical company, to help market electrical appliances (and the idea of electricity itself) to German consumers. His design for an electric water kettle referenced traditional metal forms, making it seem at home on the tea table, while still taking advantage of mass-production techniques. Wright’s American System-Built houses were the architect’s answer to the affordable housing problem. Designed so that all the components would be milled at a factory and assembled on-site to reduce materials and labor costs, the implementation of the program was halted by the United States’ entrance into World War I after only a handful of units had been built.
Though the First World War stalled a number of modernist design initiatives, its end provided adherents of modernism with an opportunity to put many of their plans into practice. Perhaps nowhere was this more pronounced than in Germany, where the wartime destruction of urban centers created massive post-war housing shortages. The rational designs promoted by modernist architects were a natural fit with the drive to build efficient and cost-effective homes, and the modernist goal of enacting positive social change by redesigning the structures of daily life held wide appeal to a generation reeling from the physical and emotional destruction of war. Counter Space’s “The New Kitchen” section examines the ramifications of these changes for kitchen design, using Schütte-
